Event updates and communications will happen in the http://startupberlin.co/ slack in the #sbchackathon2017

Developers, designers and entrepreneurs bring your ideas, and see how far you can take them in 48 hours.

Our industry is being shaped and influenced from every imaginable angle. As we innovate and reinvent, there are endless opportunities waiting to be explored. Join us for a weekend of collaboration and coding, and see what you can achieve.

This event is about creating solutions to real energy and transport challenges using a variety of datasets, APIs, and hardware provided by industry-leading brands. The hackathon will connect you with our partners Airbus, Cisco, HERE, Kuehne + Nagel, Mercedes-Benz, SBB Cargo and VINCI, for a weekend of problem solving and prototyping. Together you will build new, impactful products.

The need for trailblazers who create better and faster solutions is at an all-time high.

You don’t need to be a pro to attend. So, whether you are a first timer or a professional, let’s see what you’re made of.

Requirements

HERE Challenge: Make creative use of the HERE API as a standalone or in conjunction with other available APIs. Documentation can be found here.

Airbus Challenge: Use satellite data and navigation systems such as Galileo or GPS, to create a solution to improve mobility and transportationAirbus API and datasets are accessible through registration on this page: www.youmapps.com

Vinci/Intel/Macrix Challenge: Integrate IoT, augmented reality and drones in VINCI's Actemium mining operations. This challenge is supported by Intel and Macrix. More information here.

Vinci Eurvia:  How can we make the highway infrastructure more intelligent and connected for:

  • Better monitoring & maintenance?
  • Better Customer experience?
  • Better management & operation by highway authorities?
  • Better connection with other transport and council services?

SBB Cargo: 1000 EUR for the best project completing either of the two challenges:

  • Cargo Carriage delivery: We might get internal data of how long a freight wagon is in a trainstation and how long it takes to unload and deliver stuff. But we don’t know what to do with that data… maybe the hackers could find some suggestions and do calculations like freight xyz always takes super long and should be stored differently.
The Sample data is here: Data
  • Commodity flows: Make use of statistical data of freight transportation with trucks to model the commodity flow in Switzerland.

    Possible questions to answer:

    • Where should be a city logistic hub?
    • How could co2 be reduced if the flows where different?
    • How could we get rid of trucks in cities?
    • Visualise the flows
